The church of Church of St Nicholas and St Magnus in Moreton, rural Dorset, is a Georgian Gothic church built in 1776. The church was partially destroyed by a stray bomb dropped by a German plane in WWII. The bomb demolished the apse and blew out every window. Over the next few decades the church was rebuilt and all the windows replaced with engraved windows crafted by Laurence Whistler. It is thought that this is the only church in the world where all the windows are engraved.
The result is a light and airy interior, with unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape. The church is also famous as the burial site of T.E.Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
