Cobar Railway Station was constructed in 1892 during the peak of the railway construction in Australia. The station is at the end of a branch line built to serve the Cobar mines. Although passenger trains ceased to operate in the mid seventies the line continues to carry ore and wheat.
The station is now being used for a community facility with internet access, video conferencing, web design and photocopy facility.
