Regents Canal by Regents Park in Snow - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This was a very relaxing scene, taken next to St Marks Bridge beside a partially frozen canal in December 2010. Once again it had snowed in London, driving most of the cars from the roads and the planes from the sky. Once again, London had more space to breathe, and the pace of life forced, for a short time, to slow down.

Regents Canal by Regents Park in Snow - London visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Regents Canal by Regents Park in Snow' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Greater London.
The Regents Canal runs along the northern side of Regents Park, passing through London Zoo on it's way west from Camden Lock to the Paddington Basin and beyond. Once it snows, the scene is transfigured, branches and canal boats covered, and the canal partially frozen.
To the north lies Primrose Hill, which is popular for stunning panoramic views over London. On snowy days, it is invaded and used as an impromptu toboggan run. It is all very chaotic, and yet orderly, as people slip, slide and shoot down the slopes on almost any object imaginable. Building snow men is a must.
