The town is on the north coast of Cornwall and has an airport nearby. Much of the cliff tops are lined with hotels and restaurants, offering dramatic views over the sea. At low tide are long, sandy beaches with rolling surf ideal for surfing. At high tide the waters come up to the base of the cliffs. In winter, the tops of the cliffs are ideal spots for storm watching, when massive breakers crash against the Cornish coastline.Travel Directions and Getting There: Car: Newquay is about 48 miles from Plymouth (A30 and A38), and 33 miles from Penzance (A30).
