Watu Klotok Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Klotok Beach was virtually deserted at the time I visited it, obviously not on a ceremonial day then.

Panorama showing Watu Klotok Beach near to Klotok Temple in Central Bali. This panoramic photograph was taken on the beach just in front of the gates that lead up to the temple.
Klotok Beach is in the Klungkung regency of Bali. Like Gumicik Beach, this is beach has coarse black sand and is not very visited by tourists. However, the beach plays a central role for the Hindu community throughout Bali, and people travel from all over the island to come here for a number of different rituals.
Thousands of devotees descend on Watu Klotok Temple and the beach during the Galungan holiday. Worshipers will first visit the Segara Temple near the beach before entering Watu Klotok Temple itself.
The most frequent ritual performed at Watu Klotok Beach is the 'melis' or mekiis'. This happens during the celebration of Nyepi holiday or on during the Dewa Yadnya ritual (homage to Gods and elementals).
