St Columb Major is a small village near to Newquay and Wadebridge in Cornwall. Known as 'Synt Colom Veur' or 'Synt Colom gwartha' in Cornish, it is on the edges of Goss Moor. As a parish, it also contains the villages and hamlets of Gluvian, Ruthvoes, Talskiddy, Trebudannon, Tregaswith, Tregatillian (location of Tregatillian Caravan Park), among others.
St Columb Major has been occupied since the Bronze and Iron Ages and linked to the legend of King Arthur, who is said to have resided at Castle An Dinas, an Iron Age hill fort, and hunted on the moors nearby. The Nine Maidens stone row are found nearby.
In the Middle Ages, the major of St Columb Major was hung for his part in the Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549 and during the English Civil War in 1645 the Kings troops were stationed nearby. In 1676 three local youths blew up most of the church of St Columb.

Among the tourist attractions in and around St Columb Major in Cornwall are:- St Columb Major Church - 12th century church, now a Grade I listed building, and once proposed for the site of Cornwall Cathedra with the ancient St Columb stone cross in the churchyardl.
- Vale of Lanherne - fertile and pretty valley through which the River Menalhyl runs to St Mawgan to the west.
- Castle-an-Dinas (Castle Downs) - Iron Age hill fort over 2000 years old about 260m in diameter with 7m high earthen ramparts.
- Glebe House - Late 16th century, Grade II* listed building found in the Market Place.
- St Columb Major Union Workhouse - built around 1840 with accommodation for up to 150 people, now converted into housing.
- Nine Maidens Stone Row - the largest and best example of a row of standing stones in Cornwall.
- The Devil's Quoit - capstone of a burial chamber destroyed in 1870, shown in some records as King Arthur's Quoit.
- Retallack Lake - fishing lake next to Retallack spa and hotel in Winnards Perch, just north of St Columb Major.
- Cornish Birds of Prey Centre - get up close an personal with your favourite bird of prey. Found at Meadowside Farm in Winnards Perch.
- Screech Owl Sanctuary - located in Trewin Farm on Gross Moor, a good way to see and learn about Screech Owls, (compare the) meerkats, emus and other animals.
