St. Michael's Mount Casusway - 360 Panoramas - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Last chance to cross... This shot was taken on an incoming spring tide so the water was getting deeper by the second.
It was a miserable grey day so I added some blue to the sky at home - sorry for it not being totally natural but the shot was a bit dull without it.

St. Michael's Mount Casusway - 360 Panoramas - Marazion visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'St. Michael's Mount Casusway - 360 Panoramas' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Cornwall.
Leading from Marazion to St Michael's Mount, one of the top tourist attractions in Cornwall, The Causeway is only exposed at low tide. At that time it is possible to access St Michael's Mount by foot, at other times it is accessible by boat. This causeway has been used for hundreds of years by tourists. Note that the tide comes into the bay quite quickly.
The Cornish name for St Michael's Mount is Karrek Loos y'n Koos (Grey Rock in the Woods) and it is thought that prior to the flooding of St Mount's Bay around 1099, the mount was surrounded by woodland. The remains of trees in the bay are sometimes exposed in the bay after storms. The bay was again flooded by a tsunami in 1755 after the Lisbon Earthquake in Portugal.
St Michael's Mount became a pilgrimage site after Archangel Michael appeared to fishermen here in the 5th century. The earliest monastery is thought to date from around the 9th century though most of the current buildings date from the 12th century. Today, St Michael's Mount is owned and managed by the National Trust, who charge an entrance fee to non-members. It is considered the jewel in the crown for Cornwall and one of the top tourist attractions in the county.
