Peterborough is a cathedral city in the Cambridgeshire Fens on the banks of the River Nene. The Peterborough Tourist Information Centre (TIC), called the Peterborough Visitor Destination Centre, lies on a busy shopping street right at the heart of the historic city center. It is close to Peterborough Cathedral, the main tourist attraction in the city. The TIC is open Monday to Saturdays and provides a one stop information point for the local attractions, hotels, B&B's businesses, restaurants, bars, clubs and local shops.
The Tourist Information Centre can also sell tickets to various local attractions, including the Key Theatre, and has a small gift shop. The TIC has many leaflets promoting various attractions throughout Cambridgeshire, information about local public transport options, taxis and city maps and diaries of local events and festivals. This interactive map also shows some of the sights and attractions in Peterborough and can help you prepare for your visit.
