Ede - FURTHER INFORMATION
Ede - Ede visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Ede' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Gelderland.
Ede is a small town in the Gelderland province of the Netherlands, situated part way between Arnhem and Utrect, a little north of Wageningen and the Nederrijn branch of the Lower Rhine. The town has a growing tourism industry, mostly due to Ede's proximity to Hoge Veluwe National Park which also contains the famous Kröller-Müller Museum.
Ede played an important role in the Allied Operation Marketgarden during WWII. Allied paratroopers landed on Ginkel Heath and fought the Germans towards Arnhem, which they failed to take. There is a monument to this conflict on the heath and every September the drop is re-enacted using WWII aircraft and, until 2006, some surviving members of the British forces.
