The Tent Project sculpture was created by Cornelius Rogge in 1975. It stands next to the Needle II sculpture in the sculpture garden of the Kröller-Müller Museum in Hoge Veluwe National Park. the tents were made of heavy dark red brown canvas over a steel frame. There are 6 tents in the project, two of which are conical, two truncated pyramids and two shaped like ziggurats, all fastened to the ground with a large number of ropes. The largest is 6m high.
Cornelius Rogge sees the tents as a form of catering to the public, or as what he calls a 'vulgar offering'. He offers no further explanation or interpretation to the work. Over time, the canvas perished and was dismantled in the 1990's. In 2000, the works were reconstructed from more durable materials based on a 1:10 scale model provided by the artist. The re-installed works once again form part of the permanent exhibition within the Sculpture Garden. Within the museum itself is a display describing the conservation and reconstruction project.
