Officially known as the 'Windsor and Royal Borough Museum', but often simply referred to as the 'Windsor Museum', This attraction is situated very close to Windsor Castle and the Tourist Information Centre. It shows various artefacts and displays both about Windsor and also other towns and villages across the Borough in East Berkshire. Supported by the supported by the Friends of Windsor & Royal Borough Museum, the collection is housed in the Grade 1 listed Windsor Guildhall building.
The museum contains over 6,300 objects. Within the collection are various pre-historic tools, Bronze Age, Roman and Saxon artefacts, maps, textiles, books, paintings and prints. There are also more modern items from before Victorian times up to World War II, the 1950s and the present day.
Entrance to the museum is ticketed and entrance fees apply.

Flight: Heathrow Airport, 12 miles east of Windsor.
Road: Windsor is close to junction 6 of the M4, about 30 miles west of central London and 8 miles from the M25.
