Zürichsee is the lake of Zurich city, Switzerland, located south west of Canton Zürich, the Limmat River flows here. The lake is approximately 90 km ² its maximum length is 40 km, its maximum depth is 143 meters and its altitude is 406 meters. There are several cruises departing from Zürich, short excursions to half-day trips that pass through several villages of the lakeside, the main quay is in Zurich Bürkliplatz. The lake's waters are not polluted and are excellent for swimming.
Zürichsee is considered one of the most important lakes in Switzerland, and Europe The Zürichsee has frozen in some winters, the most recent was in 1963.
