Cape Paterson - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Located in Gippsland 138 kilometres southeast of Melbourne, the small town Cape Paterson with a population of about 600 is a holiday destination known for its beaches, surf, snorkelling and for scuba diving. The location was named by Lt. Grant in 1801 to honour Lt. Col. W. Paterson. In 1826 black coal was discovered in the cliffs and tram rails remain on the beach as a reminder of the attempts to remove coal.
