Sandy Point is a small town in South Gippsland about 200 kilometres southeast of Melbourne with a population of about 200 which grows to several thousand during holiday season due to its beautiful beaches.
Before European settlement started in the 1860s, the area was occupied by the Bratowoolong aboriginal people. Today the area is known for its beaches and water sports like surfing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding swimming and fishing.
