St. Mary's Church is the parish church of Cleobury Mortimer on the southern border of Shropshire. The stone church was built in the 12th century and then further modified in subsequent years. As a result, the nave and south aisle date from the 13th Century and the North aisle from the 14th. The side chapel was built by Roger Mortimer who was hanged in 1330.

In the chancel there is a hagioscope, commonly called a 'leper's squint' in one wall which was originally an external wall. The squint would have allowed people in the churchyard to witness the sacred elements being blessed. they would thus have been considered to have officially attended Mass and so avoid being fined for absenteeism.

The east window dates from the 19th century and celebrates William Langland, the author of Piers Plowman, was born near Cleobury. The church has a twisted, wooden spire, clearly visible from outside. This makes the church quite unique and a popular tourist attraction in the area.
