This panorama shows a view from a filed south of Slad, just above Catswood and gives an impression of the countryside around Slad. These hills and surrounding woodlands are popular with walkers, cyclists and riders year round, offering stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
Within Slad itself is a popular watering hole, the Woolpack Inn, whose name is a reminder of the clothmaking industry that once dominated much of the Cotswolds. Slad is also famous for the book Cider with Rosie, written by Laurie lee, who is buried in the churchyard of Holy Trinity Church within the village. In 1988, a TV adaptation of the book was filmed here.

Road: Slad is about 3 miles north-east of Stroud on the B4070 Slad Road. This field is next to Catswood Lane, a small country lane between Slad and Bisley.
