The gym is one of the most popular parts of the Samuel Lithgow Youth Centre (SLYC) on the Regents Park Estate in London. On most mornings the gym is open and available for adults to use for free with professional supervision and training provided by the centre. As well as serving the local community in this way, the gym is also very popular with the various youth clubs that use the centre during the evenings.

The SLYC contains many other facilities aside from this local gym that are also used by different clubs, groups and societies. These include a computer centre, sports hall, DJ / music room, youth juice bar and recreation room, industrial kitchen, dance studio and versatile space used for children's work and other events.

Some of these spaces are available for private hire at the weekend. The SLYC is a charity, and all funds raised are ploughed back into both the centre and activities for the local community.
