Maharajah's Well, Stoke Row - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

Built by local iron founders R, J & H Wilder, this well was sunk and the well-head erected at the expense of the Maharajah of Benares in reciprocation for the well sunk by Edward Anderdon Reade, who had sunk a well in 1831 to aid the Maharajah's community in Azimgurgh, India.
