Bugsworth terminus basin - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Bugsworth was a trans-shipment hub for the limestone industry at the meeting of the Peak Forest Canal and the Cromford Railway. Today it is a popular destination for narrowboat traffic. The parallel rows of stones describe the track bed of the old horse-drawn rail trucks. After falling into disrepair, the Inland Waterways Preservation Society has spend decades slowly restoring the waterway complex. The large upright post supported a crane when the canal was in commercial use.
