The pillory of Nogueira de Azeitão Village, located in Republic Square, Portugal, is a reconstruction of the 2nd half of the XX century, having an armillary sphere of iron.
This was initially pillory in Vila Fresca de Azeitão, but in 1785 D. Mary I ordered was moved to Camera that Nogueira Village, therefore, became the village, changing its name to Village Nogueira de Azeitão.
The pillory of village Nogueira de Azeitão Property has been classified Public Interest in 1933. In Republic Square near the pillory is a sculpture of the poet and teacher Sebastião da Gama, a tribute to the "Poet of Arrábida" that never leaves the camera. Also in Village Nogueira de Azeitão is installed a museum that lodges personal items, photographs and works of Sebastião da Gama.
