This overview photographed in beginning of June 2011 near the N255 shows a field of sunflowers and vineyards located close to Serpa in the Alentejo, Portugal. It is an essentially rural area and extensive plains inserted in Alentejo Wine Route. The soils are fundamentally granitic with some patches of schist and continental climate.
In Alentejo, the remains of the Roman presence are quite frequent, especially their "Villa Romana", a place where they were obtained several pieces, some deposited in the National Archaeological Museum.
