While many of the main tourist attractions in Split are found within the walled Old City around the Cathedral and Diocletian Palace, to the west beyond Trg Republike (Republic square) narrow alleyways wind up the hill towards the Marjan viewpoint. Some of these are cobbled and hidden within them are various small restaurants, cafes and hotels and holiday apartments.

This virtual tour shows a view down Krizeva Street, home to the Split Inn Apartments, and was taken next to the Church of the Holy Cross (Sv. Križ). Though narrow, this is one of the wider alleys in the area.

Flight: Split International Airport found 20km west of Split, transfer by either taxi or bus.
Ferry: Regular ferries from Dubrovnik, Korcula, Mljet, Pescara, Rijeka, Vis, Hvar, Spetare (Brac), Stari Grad, Drvenik and Ancona in Italy.
Road: Split lies on the 8 coastal road, about 30km north of Omiš and 60km north of Makarska. It is 150km south of Zadar.
