Barmera with a population of about 1900 is a small town 220 kilometres north-east of Adelaide in the Riverland region of South Australia. The town is located south of Lake Bonney which is fed by the Murray River via Chambers Creek wetlands. Lake Bonney is popular for fishing, water skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing and swimming.
