The natural Mattmark dam is located in the Saas Valley near the village of Saas Almagell, Switzerland, 2197m above sea level, has a capture area of 37.10 km2, 1.76 km2 surface, maximum depth of 93m. The Mattmark dam was built from 1960-1965.

Road: Saas-Almagell is 235km (3 hours) east of Geneva and 30km south of Visp.
Saas Almagell to Matmark is about 15 minutes by bus (This road is open only in the summer).
