Malo jezero (Big Lake) is actually a sea-linked inlet, part of the Bay of Solina. It is found at the north-western end of Mljet Island within Mljet National Park. The lake is linked to the sea at the eastern end opening into luka Gonoturska (Gonoturska Bay).
The lake is most famous for Sv Marije on which stands the 12th century Monastery of St Mary, an important sight and tourist attraction on Mljet. Ferries take visitors over to the island from two points, one near Pristanište and the other near Malo jezero. It is also possible to hire canoes and kayaks to cross the lake.
