Edwards Bay is just one of several small bays that line the northern side of the Otago Peninsula along Portabello Road. From this bay the view extends over Otago Harbour to Mount Cargill and the hills on the far side. Within the harbour you can see Goat Island Rakiriri and Quarantine Island Kamau Taurua.
This coastal road is very picturesque as it wends it's way from Dunedin to Harrington Point and the Royal Albatross Sanctuary at the eastern end of the peninsula. Local artist Lynn Taylor has a studio on the side of Edwards Bay.
