Panorama from inside a cave of a derelict limestone quarry on the island of Ahvensaari (Åvensor) in Finland. The limestone at Ahvensaari has been quarried by locals for at least 150 years, and continued until the 1930's. The quarry was then acquired by Paraisten Kalkkivuori who continued production until around 1956. After this the quarry and associated limestone factory closed but was not dismantled at all, leaving a kind of museum to previous times intact. This panoramic photograph was taken from inside one of the man made caves created by the quarrying activities of the past.
