Managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust, the Nower And Milton Heath lies about half way between Dorking town center and Westcott on the A25. The semi-natural woodland reserve covers 36.21 hectares (89.49 acres) and has a mix of veteran trees and a large open grassland areas.
From the hill on the heath there are excellent views north towards Denbies Hill, Ranmore, Boxhill, the North Downs and Dorking. To the South are views towards the Weald. Various marked, walking trails wind their way through the woods and heath and at the top of the main hill is the Temple, a covered seating area.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Bus: Dorking, Sondes Place Drive Stop (21, 22, 32, 121), Westcott, Milton Court (21, 22, 32, 121).
Train: Dorking Rail Station, Dorking Deepdene Rail Station, Dorking West Rail Station.
Road: The Nower And Milton Heath is on the western edge of Dorking with access from Coldharbour Lane, Hampstead Lane and the A25 Westcott Road. Dorking is at the junction of the A24 and A25 roads, about 27 miles from central London and 12 miles east of Guildford. It is 15 miles north-west of Gatwick Airport.
