Loch Ness and Rainbow - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A panorama that shows some of the benefits of rain showers in Scotland. Whilst there is every potential to get wet, there is also opportunities to capture images like this one, where a bright rainbow hangs over Loch Ness. This picture was taken on the same day as that of Loch Ness at Lochend, and shows not only how long the loch is, but how much the weather can change in the time it takes to drive down it. This kind of panoramic photograph is for me one of the more challenging and more rewarding to take. Stop where possible and try to grab the picture before the conditions change. 2 minutes later and the rainbow was gone.

This small shoreline is accessed from a lay-by on the road from Inverness to Fort Augustus. As you leave Inverness heading west, travel south at Invermoriston village 25 miles from Inverness and continue to drive alongside the banks of the Loch Ness.
Much of this area is peaceful and unspoilt, ideal for a leisurely drive and with many such quiet places to stop to enjoy the quiet scenery. Though there is little of note nearby this immediate area, it's pleasure is in it's tranquility and easy access by many places along the road.
