Palace of Arches - Another view - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama photographed in October 2011, in addition to the Palace of the Arches, also shows a chapel, which is dedicated to the Lord Jesus of the Navigators, protector of fishermen and sailors.
Closed to the cult after the construction of new church, the chapel opens the doors annually, at the great feasts of summer, to see out the procession in honor of the Lord Jesus of the Navigators, his patron.

The Palace of Arches is located at the entrance of Paço de Arcos, in the sense Lisbon / Cascais along the Marginal road, Municipality of Oeiras in Portugal. It was built in the late fifteenth century, and rebuilt in the XVIII century. The palace owned later to the family Lancaster, whose coat is still on the balcony of the building.
It was from the Palace of Arches that the King D. Manuel I participated in hunting in the farm Morgadio and assisted the departure of the caravels that were heading to India.
The name of the town of Paço de Arcos came from the name of the Palace of the Arches, so affirm the historians.
