The Empire State Building is one of the most famous buildings in New York City and one of the top tourist attractions. Standing on the intersection of intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street it has 102 stories reaching 381m to the rooftop and 443.2m to the top of the antenna. Between 1931, when it was built, and 1972 the Empire State Building was the tallest skyscraper in the world and an amazing architectural achievement.

The Empire State Building has an observation deck 86th-floor offering a stunning 360° view over New York City's skyline. It is the most popular outdoor observation deck in the world and has been visited by over 110 million people. A second, smaller observation deck is found on the 102nd floor. Both these decks are open to public for a fee. The queues to visit can be extraordinarily long as this is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. It can often take well over an hour to pass through the various queues, though an additional fee can be paid to skip to the front.
