The Catholic Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City was built between 1876-55 based on the design of 4th and 5th century early Christian Byzantine basilicas in Ravenna, Italy. The grand façade of the church is based on 13th century Gothic architecture and the interior was painted and decorated by numerous artists selected by Father Hecker.
St. Paul the Apostle church stands on W 59 St, just west of Columbus Circle and the south-west corner of Central Park.
