Fernão Ferro is located in the geographical center of Setubal peninsula, Municipality of Seixal. It has easy access to Lisbon, Setubal and industrial areas / services Almada and Seixal through the A2 motorway and the National Road 378, connecting to Sesimbra, and the proximity to the countryside and to the beach.
The Municipality of Fernão Ferro was officially established in May 27, 1993 by disintegration of the parishes of Aldeia de Paio Pires, Amora and Arrentela. It has about 15,000 inhabitants with permanent residence.
