The west end of the Colosseum overlooks the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill which are next to the Colosseum. Below the Colosseum in this picture you can see the Arch of Constantine in the Piazza del Colosseo. To the right of the Arch of Constantine is the Sacra Via which leads up to the Arch of Titus at the eastern end of the Roman Forum.
This picture shows the passageways and rooms beneath the arena that held the gladiators and animals waiting to enter the arena. .
