The Simplon Hospice - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

This picnic spot is near to the summit of the Simplon Pass on the way down into Italy, and overlooks the famous Stockalpers Hospice, founded by Augustinian monks in 1235. Jodok Stockalper completely rebuilt and enlarged it in 1666, and it was restored once again in 1968.
