Vladislav Hall - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The Vladislav Hall (Vladislavský sál) of the Old Royal Palace at Prague Castle is a fantastic space, arched ceilings and a wooden floor older than the foundation of the USA. With pictures like this it is easy to see why the castle is at the top of the Prague. tourist attraction list. This panorama is a hand held shot, so I am quite pleased with the way it has come out, though if you look hard you will be able to find a couple of errors in the picture. Not only was this hand held, but the shutter speed was about 1/15 seconds too.

Panorama of the Vladislav Hall (Vladislavský sál) in the Old Royal Palace (Starý královský palác) of Prague Castle. The Old Royal Palace was home to the princes and kings of Bohemia from the 11C to the 16C. The Vladislav Hall is 62m long, 16m wide and 13m high. It was designed by Benedikt Reid and has sweeping rib-vaulting which almost reaches to the floor as it forms floral patters on the ceiling. Visitors enter the hall through the west end. At the east end is the entrance to the chapel of Všech svatých. To the left is a staircase to other parts of the Old Castle. The final exit from Vladislav Hall is through the Riders Staircase, which was built so that riders could enter the hall on horseback for jousting competitions within the hall.
Towards the east end of the hall there is a door through one of the huge windows onto a balcony giving a panoramic view of Prague.
