One of the most attractive and important castles in the Sierra Espadan. Its relatively good state of conservation allows one to see the placement of its principal defensive elements, towers and walls and follow its walled area completely. There is little documentation about its history. Possibly it was conquered by Jaime I's troops around 1238. By comparing it with other castles in the area and its strategic importance to the Moorish population undoubtedly it can be linked to all the rebellions which took place.
