Hradčanské námestí is the square at the front of of Prague Castle (Pražský hrad), the most popular tourist attraction in Prague, with thousands of visitors each day. Parts of Prague Castle are now used as the Czech Parliament, but some sections are open to the public and ticket kiosks are in the Second Courtyard. From here visitors enter the Third Courtyard and the main sights include the Saint Vitus Cathedral (Katedrála svatého Víta), the Vladislav Hall (Vladislavský sál) of the Old Royal Palace (Starý Královský palác) and St. George Basilica (Bazilika Sv. Jiří) on Jirske Square (Jiřské námĕst).

There is really little else in Hradčanské námestí that tourists come to see, though there is a good view over Prague itself from the south side of the square. A small tourist train departs from the square regularly to take people round the rest of Hradčany to see the other sights in the area.
