The Isola Madre, located on Lake Maggiore, Piedmont in Italy, Europe, belongs to the Borromeo family since 1500. It is particularly well known not only by the spectacular flowering of azaleas, but also for its Botanical gardens with rare plants from around the world. In 1978, the palace of the sixteenth century was officially opened to the public.
