Taken part way down this steep hill, this image shows a view over the surrounding fields, Cock Marsh and the River Thames near Marlow and Cookham. This handheld virtual tour panorama was taken on a country walk with friends from Cookham to Maidenhead in April 2012, following the route of Walk 24 in the Time Out Country Walks volume 1.

Long Copse footpath descends from Winter Hill near Cookham Dean village in Berkshire towards Cock Marsh and the River Thames. At the bottom of the escarpment there are a series of footpaths heading along the river or towards Cookham village. Cock Marsh contains a number of prehistoric tumuli. both this hill and the marsh are owned by the National Trust.

This descent is part of the Cookham - Maidenhead walk listed as Walk 24 in the TimeOut Country Walks near London volume 1.

Train: Cookham Station (with a change at Maidenhead for services from London Paddington) and then walk 1.5 miles down Dean Lane.
Road: This hill is about 0.5 miles from Cookham Dean and 2.1 miles from Cookham. Cookham is 35 miles west of London on the M4, A4 and A4094. It is about 35 miles southeast of Oxford on the M40 and A4094 and 4 miles north of Maidenhead.
