The Clock Tower is located in Republic Square in the historic center of S. João da Pesqueira, which is part of a harmonious historical set recovered of the facades and pavement. We can highlight the Chapel of Mesicórdia with a Baroque façade covered with two tile panels representing Christ and the Samaritan and Christ curing the sick.
This monument was private family illustrious D. Luis Alvares de Tavora, lord of the village, which later offered to the Mercy site.
Another attraction is also the Arch and The Arcade. All this set of historical patrimony is of the XVIII century.
Opposite is the building of the old town hall and jail, whose façade is framed with Arms of corners and underneath, oval plaque alluding to this set of historical patrimony built by Queen Mary I in 1794.
Today this building serves as the Tourism Office and houses the Museum Eduardo Tavares.
