Prospect Point is a popular tourist attraction in Stanley Park in Vancouver. This is the highest viewpoint within the park and below it runs the Stanley Park Seawall walking and cycling paths. The point contains a shop and cafe and has a good view of Lion Gate Bridge to the east and the outer part of Burrard Inlet in Vancouver Harbour and the Strait of Georgia to the west, and round to part of English Bay to the south.
Much of this view was obscured by trees until a storm in 2006 blew them down opening up the vista. The viewpoint is now very popular on clear days when visitors can see northwards to North Vancouver and westwards towards West Vancouver. On clear days both the peaks of Cyprus Mountain and Grouse Mountain can be seen. These are popular skiing destinations in the winter and have walking trails in the summer.
Good views of the inner part of Vancouver Harbour can be got from Brockton Point about 2.5km further east in the park.
