False Creek is a short inlet that separates the West End and Downtown Vancouver from the rest of the city. This deep cove was named by George Henry Richards in the late 19th century who found that this 'creek' lead nowhere. Today, the creek is lined with a cycle and walkway, various parks like George Wainborn Park and Coopers Park, apartment / condominium blocks and some tourist attractions.

False Creek Attractions:Some of the main attractions around False Creek include the Telus World of Science and Omnimax cinema attraction found at the eastern end. On the northern edge are the Plaza of nations and Edgewater Casino and at the western end of the southern side is the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

Various companies provide ferry crossings at several points of False Creek, which are popular with tourists as they offer good views of Downtown Vancouver.
