The chapel was one of the first areas to be built in the Queluz National Palace, the Chapel was designed by Mateus Vicente de Oliveira, include a single nave and octagonal plant. The work in gilded woodwork of inspiration Rococo was executed under the direction of Silvestre Faria Lobo.
Today, the chapel is used especially for weddings.
The cupola of the main chapel is externally covered with a copper cover, bulb-shaped.
