The Pênsil or Neptune garden was constructed on a water reservoir, the centerpiece of the capture system and distribution of water from Farm Royal of Queluz, designed by Manuel da Maia.
In the central axis of the garden are situated the two most imposing lakes of this space, the lake of Neptune and the Nereid Lake.
