The National Museum of Archeology was founded by Dr. José Leite de Vasconcelos in 1893. With over a century of existence this museum is a reference institution of Portuguese Archaeology, by the collections in its possession and the space it occupies in Jeronimos Monastery, is a centenary institution of Portuguese Culture.
