This 8km long golden beach stretches from Playa del Ingles to the lighthouse at Maspalomas. It is very popular with sun worshipers and backed by extensive sand dunes and by a protected nature reserve. In February 2011 severe storms removed most of the sand from this beach leaving just pebbles, but in September when this photograph was taken, the beach was back to its pristine condition.
