Burgess Park - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Hand held panorama taken overlooking the eastern end of Burgess Park in South London. This was taken on the day I visited the Sacrilege 2012, the inflatable Stone Henge (visible below the hill and surrounded by people) that was proving a massive hit with the public during the 2012 London Olympics. At the time the park was still undergoing landscaping and renovation works. At the time this was uploaded the satellite view of the Google map of London still showed to old park prior to recent renovation works.
Burgess Park - FURTHER INFORMATION

Burgess Park covers 113 acres of land in Southwark amking it accessible to residents of Camberwell, Walworth and Peckham. It is one of the larges parks in south London and, unlike most other parks, was created by clearing the area of housing. The park was named Burgess Park in 19763 after Councillor Jessie Burgess who became Camberwell's first woman Mayor. The park is an important resource for residents with various walks, a lake, BBQ points at the eastern end and open play areas.
Burgess Park is currently undergoing a £8M renovation project which has seen new landscaping, walkways, cafe and other improvements. Near the centre of the park is Chumliegh Gardens, a platend world garden whose flora reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of the surrounding area. Within the park is a listed lime kiln, remains of a former road and former almshouses.
