In all there are some 30,000 rose plants within the Rose Gardens, creating an amazing display of colour when they bloom and making it the largest collection of roses in London. The Rose Gardens are in the Queen Mary Gardens of the park, which is often called the Inner Circle by locals.This part of the park is a very popular tourist attraction. Within the Rose Gardens is a small lake filled with ornamental ducks and carp. In the middle of this lake is an Island Rockery. Also within Queen Mary Gardens is a cafe and an open air theatre.
