The Founder's Chapel is one of the chapels of the Batalha Monastery in Portugal was built in 1426 by the irish master Huguet, who introduced the flamboyant Gothic decoration. Completed around 1433-34, is a space full of historical and artistic significance.

The Founder's Chapel is one of the chapels of the Batalha Monastery in Portugal was built in 1426 by the irish master Huguet, who introduced the flamboyant Gothic decoration. Completed around 1433-34, is a space full of historical and artistic significance. Here are the tombs of King João I, D. Filipa de Lencastre, in the center of the chapel which can be seen in the image, and of their sons, Prince and Regent D. Pedro and his wife Isabel of Urgel, D. Henrique the Navigator and Master of the Order of Christ, the Prince João, Master of the Order of Santiago and his wife D. Isabel; D. Fernando, master of the Order of Avis, who died in captivity in Fez.
The stained glass windows Gothic of religious scenes representing the Visitation, Adoration of the Magi, Escape to Egypt, and Resurrection of Christ.
